Jumbunna Supported Playgroups

Two educator-led supported playgroups run weekly for families with a child aged up to three. They are primarily intended for families with limited local support networks, Indigenous families, sole or teenage parents, and families affected by developmental disability or delay. Djanangmum Preschool

Casino Public School’s designated Aboriginal preschool provides play-based early learning on NSW public-school days from 9 am to 3 pm. Children enrol for the year before school if they turn four before 31 July that year. There is no attendance fee; families can contact the preschool to ask about a tour or waitlist.

OOSH Casino West Vacation Club by Community Gateway

School-holiday care is available at Casino West Public School, 84 Hotham Street, from 8 am to 6 pm, Monday to Friday. The Vacation Club is Child Care Subsidy approved, and enrolments and bookings are handled through the OWNA app. Contact 0429 640 075 or oosh@nrcg.org.au.

💃 Dance and creative activity

McAuliffe School of Dance

Children and young people can try ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, acro, singing, stretch and conditioning, or Hip Hop 4 Fun, with classes offered in Casino and Kyogle. Boys, girls and dancers with disabilities are welcome. The Continuum Program serves dancers aged 16 and over; check the current timetable for Casino venues and class times.

CASPA Casino Family Support

Families can access early-intervention support and parenting courses, including Black Box Parenting, 123 Magic, Engaging Adolescents, Bringing Up Great Bubs and Bringing Up Great Kids. The Casino team is at 104 Centre Street and can be contacted on 02 6662 6792 or casino@caspa.org.au.

Jumbunna NDIS

Children from birth onwards can access speech pathology and occupational therapy through this NDIS provider. Telehealth, therapy assistance and selected group programs are also offered. Contact Jumbunna on 02 6662 2866 at 60 High Street, Casino to discuss relevant services and access arrangements.

Child and Family Counselling Service, Casino Community Health

This Northern NSW Local Health District service supports children aged 0–12 and their families or carers with behavioural difficulties, stress, anxiety and mood-related concerns. Parents and carers may refer, as can health, education and community organisations. It is not a crisis mental health service. Find it at 70B Canterbury Street or phone 02 6660 0610.
