Distinguished and Famous people from Casino

🌟 Jeff Fatt

Jeff Fatt's family ran a large retail store in Casino before his musical life took him towards rock bands and, eventually, a purple skivvy. He played keyboards in the Roadmasters with his brother Hilton, then joined the Cockroaches before becoming one of the original Wiggles. His famous on-stage sleepiness developed as a way for children to take part by waking him. He passed the purple role to Lachy Gillespie in 2012. Casino's connection is the family background behind a performer whose apparently simple comic routine reached children around the world.

⚖️ Kevin Ross Murray

Kevin Ross Murray was born at Casino in 1930 and developed parallel careers at the Bar and in the citizen army. A forceful criminal barrister, he became known for tactical skill and vigorous cross-examination. Military responsibilities progressed from the Sydney University Regiment to command of the Army Reserve’s New South Wales division and later appointment as chief of the Army Reserve. Casino’s association is his birthplace, before the Sydney education and professional work. His story brings together two demanding forms of leadership, with a reputation for energy and a courtroom presence that colleagues could find formidable.

🎨 William Leslie Robinson

William Leslie Robinson was born at Casino in 1896 and became a remarkable horseman, police tracker, boxer and painter. Of Bundjalung descent, he developed his riding skills while young and later served for decades with the New South Wales police. His status as a special constable left him without a pension on retirement, despite the long service. Painting brought another form of recognition, with demand growing after work was shown in Sydney. Casino is his birthplace, while much of the later career unfolded elsewhere on the North Coast. The range of skills makes his story difficult to fit into a single occupational label.
